That he, the said Chung H■iu-nam otherwise Chung Sau
Nam on the 4th day of August 1913 at Canton, Ohina, feloniously ddd steal take and carry away a certain book to wit one payment out book for the period between the first and sixth moons of the first year of the Republic, the property of the Government of the Province of Kwong Tung, China.

That he, the said Chưng Aziu-nan otherwise Chung Sau Nam, on the 4th day of August 1918 at Janton, Ohima, them being a servant of the Government of the Previnos of Kwong Tung feliniously and fraudulently did embezzle and steal the two several sures of 3100,000 and $50,000 delivered to him for his said employer.

That he, the said Chungilsiu-nam otherwise Chung Sau Nan on the 4th day of August 1913 and divers and other dates subue-
quent therete then being entrusted with certain valuable
securities, to wit two cheques, one for $100,000 drawn on the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Shamoen, Canton,
and one for $50,000 draws on the International Banking Corpor- ation Shaneen, Canten, the property of the Government of the Province of "wong Từng, China, in order that he might remit
the preceeds thereof to Shanghai and in turn to Nankin did fraudulently convert the said valuable securities and the
preceeds thereef to his own use.
During the said hearing and investigation before the
said John Roskrudge Wood evidence was given by witnesses for
the prosecution tending to prove that some time prior to the
alleged commission by the Appellant of the orines mentioned
in the said Requisitions Chan Kwing Hing then Governer General
of such Province appointed by the President of the Republic of
Ühina rebelled against the said Goverment and with the cenour-
rence of the Legislative Assembly of such Pravines declarad
